Description

Soma Sound is a multi-layer acoustic membrane that reduces impact noise and sound transmission through building structures. It consists of a top layer of non-woven polypropylene fabric, a middle polyolefin layer and a resilient bottom layer of white polyester felt.

It works on the mass–spring principle: the resilient polyester layer separates the screed from the load-bearing floor slab and reduces the transmission of both impact and airborne noise. Thanks to the combination of mass and resilience, it effectively dampens structure-borne noise, withstands mechanical stress during installation and resists tearing well on uneven substrates.

It is designed for floating floors as a resilient layer between the load-bearing floor slab and the screed, onto which any floor covering can be laid. The rolls are unrolled in their natural direction. The polyester felt side goes down, the non-woven fabric side up.
